This is the first of a series of posts on the design and calculation of cross-laminated timber panels using Revit and Robot. In this first post I will show a free add-ins available at the following link for the creation of Revit wall and slab families:
http://www.xlamdolomiti.it/a_ENG_44_1.php
With the add-ins in the image above, users can load wall and slab families from the XLam Dolomiti catalogue. Information like product code and orthotropy of different layers are stored in the family. The orthotropy direction is referred to the analytical local axis inside revit. Orthotropy, mechanical properties of materials and geometric properties will be used by the design module.
The module is available in different languages: English, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Chinese.
In the next post I will show how to check panels inside Revit according to Eurocode 5, Italian Code DM2008 (plus CNR/DT 206/2007), DIN 1052:2004 using the Result Storage and how to export the stiffness matrix from Revit to Robot.
